REMINDER- 25 JUNE 2025 IS END OF LIFE FOR CITRIX HYPERVISOR 8.2 CUMULATIVE UPDATE 1(CU1)

OAS would like to remind Citrix clients that June 25, 2025, will mark the end of life for Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 Cumulative Update 1 (CU1). We therefore encourage our clients to take this opportunity to upgrade their hypervisor to XenServer 8.

XenServer 8 latest features:

Support for Windows 11 and vTPM
Integrated PVS Accelerator
Added support for Nagios and SNMP
An updated Xen Conversion Manager

The most significant update in XenServer 8 is Citrix's enhancement of how the hypervisor remains up to date. The process has been modified so that fixes are now delivered via a Content Delivery Network (CDN), ensuring that XenServer 8 stays updated with minimal effort.

If the XenServer 8, pool is unable to connect to the internet or if the hosts are restricted from retrieving updates from a CDN, Citrix has developed an alternative method to update the stream without relying on a CDN.

Additional new features for XenServer 8 are:

Simplified way of getting PVS images from VMware to XenServer,
Terraform support,
Anti-affinity support,
Windows Server 2025 support
Citrix-aware XenCenter.

Finally, an important consideration is that XenServer 8 can function on the same hardware as the Citrix Hypervisor.
