IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - END OF LIFE, CITRIX HYPERVISOR 8.2 CUMULATIVE UPDATE 1 (CU1) - JUNE 2025
The end of life for Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 cumulative update 1 (CU1) offers an excellent chance to upgrade the hypervisor to XenServer 8. Not only does XenServer 8 introduce a host of new features, but it also revolutionizes the process of keeping hypervisors updated.
New functionalities in XenServer 8 include:
- Support for Windows 11 and vTPM
- Integrated PVS Accelerator
- Enhanced support for Nagios and SNMP
- An upgraded Xen Conversion Manager
A significant change in this release is the method of maintaining the hypervisor. The previous approach of downloading individual fixes and hoping for the correct combination is no longer necessary. Instead, updates are now delivered continuously through a content delivery network (CDN), allowing effortlessly keeping the XenServer pools current and efficient.
