FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. and REDMOND, Wash. – April 4, 2024 –
Cloud Software Group, Inc., and Microsoft Corp. have announced an extension of their partnership through an eight-year strategic agreement. This collaboration will enhance the go-to-market strategy for the Citrix® platform and facilitate the development of new cloud and AI solutions with a unified product roadmap.
Cloud Software Group will invest $1.65 billion in Microsoft's cloud and generative AI capabilities.
The alliance strengthens the longstanding partnership between Citrix and Microsoft, positioning Citrix as the preferred Microsoft Global Azure Partner solution for Enterprise Desktop as a Service. Together, they will provide tailored solutions, expert guidance, and support to expedite customers' cloud journeys. Citrix will utilize Microsoft Azure as its primary cloud solution, offering customers the combined benefits of the Citrix platform alongside Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365. This collaboration will also streamline procurement options through Azure Marketplace, simplifying the evaluation and renewal of Citrix solutions.
Sridhar Mullapudi, General Manager at Citrix, emphasized the significance of empowering employees with secure and innovative solutions to enhance productivity in flexible work environments. The partnership aims to deliver unmatched value and innovation to customers by leveraging the strengths of both companies.
The agreement introduces new licensing models to simplify the joint solutions between Citrix and Microsoft, making it easier for customers to adopt and deploy these integrated solutions. This enhanced collaboration will also drive productivity and innovation in AI, with Cloud Software Group's engineering teams leveraging GitHub Copilot and introducing the Spotfire Copilot™ extension on Microsoft Azure OpenAI service to accelerate data-related tasks.
To boost collaboration and productivity, Cloud Software Group will transition all employees to Microsoft 365, providing them with top-tier productivity and AI tools. Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Microsoft highlighted the shared vision for customer success through cloud and AI technology adoption.
The expanded partnership between Microsoft and Citrix is set to advance transformation journeys, as acknowledged by Providence Chief Technology Officer Wasif Jamal. This collaboration is geared towards delivering transformative solutions at scale with Microsoft 365 and Azure as key enablers.
